  • July Rally - Quincy CA
    Starts: 12:00 am
    Ends: July 10, 2017 - 12:00 am
Location: Pioneer Rv Park, Quincy, CA 95971, USA
Description: The rally will start at Pioneer RV Park located in Quincy near the fair grounds. The web site for the RV Park is:
    http://pioneerrvpark.com

We have 10 sites for our use and the rate will be $30.40 plus tax (This rate reflects a 20% discount since we are booking as a group). This included full hookups, use of the clubhouse during our stay, and complimentary coffee and donuts for one of our mornings.

Barney will handle your reservation requests. Please do not contact the RV park for your reservation! Contact him via email at barneyrabold@yahoo.com. When you request a spot please indicate the length of your rig and your arrival and departure date. Barney will hold the reservation list and will place you on it based on the date and time you make a request to him. If we exceed our 10 spots, Barney will coordinate with the RV park and attempt to get more spaces. Your payment will be made directly to the RV park upon your arrival. Since the RV has been quite gracious in offering reservations with no money down, we need to respect that. If you change your plans and need to cancel all or part of your stay you will need to notify Barney via his email at the earliest date you can. Cancellations or changes in arrival or departure dates after June 1, 2017 may result in a request for you to pay the Park for your nights.

Do not forget our Lake Tahoe Airstream Club agreement to collect $10 per person for each of our rallies to augment our funding. That will be collected separately at the rally.

Your co-hosts are working on activities for this rally. Here are a few of the things we have found in the area.

Here is the Wikipedia information on Quincy.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quincy,_California
It is a small town with some interesting shops and restaurants to visit.

The Western Pacific Railroad Museum in Portola, CA looks interesting. Here is the web site for that attraction:
    http://www.wplives.org
It is about 30 miles east of Quincy.

Bucks Lake is about 15 miles to the west. Here is the web site
    http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/plumas/recarea/?recid=13368
There is fishing, boating, swimming, hiking, and beautiful views around the area. The lake is operated by PG & E and the surrounding land is under US Forest Service ownership.

Plumas-Eureka State Park is about 28 miles east of Quincy. Here is the web site
    https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=507
Plumas-Eureka State Park was established in 1959, and provides visitors with a glimpse into a fascinating period of California history, as well as opportunities for quiet recreation in a beautiful high Sierra mountain setting.
The focal point of the park is the museum building and historic area surrounding it. Originally constructed as the miner's bunkhouse, the museum now serves as a visitor center. Inside, displays depict the natural and cultural history of the park. Outside and across the street from the museum is the historic mining area, where the Mohawk Stamp Mill, Bushman five-stamp mill, stable, mine office, Moriarity House (historic miner's residence) and the blacksmith shop depict life in gold rush-era California.
During the summer, tours of the buildings and blacksmithing demonstrations are conducted by docents and park staff. Visitors can also enjoy fishing, nature study and hiking within the park.

We will be putting together more information on the area as we gather it. We will also put together some events including happy hours, pot lucks, etc.
